Yea, verily. Why dost thou hide thyself from us? Vouchsafe your humble (non)servants even a username. . .

Come on, Bible, help a lady out!

Like many things in life, you see what you want to see and the truth is what your perception of the truth is.

God is alive and well and visible. We just need to open our eyes.

Open thine eyes. God is all around us, as listed above, and don't forget he's in the incredible mudslides that kill hundreds, a baby born without a brain, a terrifying story from a bag lady, that look between a man and wife as they decide to divorce and the conniving ear of a betraying friend. The lord god does it all.

Nice try, but those things are not God. They come from evil or negativity. God is only goodness, love, light, happiness. I hope some day you see Him in this way.

Pray tell, how does a baby without a brain or a mudslide result from evil or negativity?

These things and things like them are awful, but they may not be your lessons to learn. Have faith that there is a reason for everything, no matter how hard it may be to imagine. We cannot imagine; we are only human and of this earth, but one day we will understand.

But PP's question was: How does a baby without a brain or a mudslide result from evil or negativity?

And the "Negativity" person's response seems to be: someday you'll understand, but it can't be god because god only does the good stuff.

Let's see -- in the absence of a response from the person who made this statement ---- it may mean that "not your lessons to learn" means that the mudslide is actually a valuable lesson from God to those he selected for this particular event that he, being God, planned for the ultimate benefit of his beloved human creation. Those would be the victims - now dead - and their loved ones - now mourning. It's beyond human understanding, but those affected, either living or dead, will understand once in God's presence.

As mere humans, some of us have trouble imagining how this could be possible, but those with faith in God can convince themselves of what seems like convoluted thinking and always giving a break to an unseen deity.

I recall being told that God does show himself, people simply aren't always prepared to see him. That God is more of a feeling than an entity you can see. (Taking comfort in God's love etc. etc.)

That response doesn't cut it for me but there it is.

But when you consider that it's always people speaking for God, because God doesn't show himself, then it seems more like a matter of people using the concept of God to manipulate other people.
