Food for Thought in Williamsburg is a good restaurant in town, good drinks, family friendly, go early in the evening (5 pm) to avoid a line for dinner on weekends.
There is a great playground called Kidsburg at MidCounty Park.
Kids liked Jamestown Discovery Center, take pics with the helmets on at the old recreated fort and on The Dove. Victory Center at Yorktown, lunch at Yorktown Pub. But if you are paying for GWL you want to spend a lot of time at the waterpark so those are all things you could do on a different trip.
