I'd try to eat there as little as possible.

What is wrong with overpriced food and diarrhea? Isn't that what everyone wants on vacation.

Bring a warm coverup for poolside. I found it freezing to sit around in a wet suit.

Well, if you don't have kids of an age to go there, I'd suggest you go somewhere else entirely. It's absolutely in the "it was fun to see my child so happy" category, not the "maybe we'll get a babysitter and go without the kids" category.

I wouldn't pay GWL prices if I was going to go somewhere else for the day. Paying for GWL entrance and Busch Gardens entrance on the same day seems really wasteful. We generally go down for 1 night and 2 days, which is about right. If I wanted to do BG or CW too, I'd probably switch to a new hotel.

I agree. The two times we've been to Great Wolf Lodge (admittedly in the dead of winter), we didn't go outside for 48 hours. GWL IS the destination. When we go to Williamsburg or Busch Gardens, we stay in a "regular" hotel.

Go to Pierce's Pitt BBQ. Wear goggles because the chlorine is invasive

Don't eat at gwl or the restaurant that's in the parking lot. Food was inedible.

+1 Pierce's is the best BBQ in Williamsburg.

Start counting the tattoos you see early and at the end of the day marvel that you've never seen so many tattoos in one place ever in your life. And we had a blast. Agree that you must stock up at the Walmart.

Funny image in my head of all the people wearing goggles while enjoying their BBQ.

Didn't go it for me at all & I love BBQ.

1 night is more than enough. Arrive an hour before you can access the water park (earlier time than when you can access room), have one parent wait in the registration line, which can easily be over 60 minutes if you time it wrong. You could waste time in arcade or eat a snack (bring your own food) while other parent gets wristbands. The next day, take stuff out to your car, take a change of clothes & such pool side and stay until kids are done.

Agree 100% with this. We gave GWL lots of chances and finally got into the car and drove down the street to IHOP which was an immense improvement in service and quality.

My kids had a blast at GWL. It wouldn't bother me one bit if we never went back. It's all for the kids and really nada for adults.

Their food service sucks. Plan on doing this or going out.

The PPs - especially the ones with helpful advice - make this seem like the least appealing place in the world.
