DCPS- 2 hour delay

Anonymous
I am assuming the people that are happy with this decision are those parents whose children don't take metrobus.

If you or your kid is going to be in freezing temps and on danger just STAY HOME. Not a big deal.

The problem is I wonder if parents and kids will realize that the buses aren't running. If they were at all responsible, DCPS would add that to their website, their tweets, and their facebook posts. Otherwise people might just see the 2 hour delay and just send their kids out assuming all is well.

Glad I chose my IB school over a Charter accross the City from my home.

Most people have the common sense to check the bus schedule.

Glad your in-bound school isn't a failing disgrace. Do you really want to bring that inequity into this conversation, too?

Why would you wait for a bus that you know isn't coming.

Yes, it will still be cold. And yes, tomorrow will be tough with the bus situation. But 2 hours gives people time to figure it out.

I really do not think children will be killed or injured tomorrow. Let's toughen up (a little, but not all the way for an on-time opening!!).

Figure out what if your bus is not running? That you don't have a car?

Imagine what the 10 bus lines that are running tomorrow will be like?

Maybe because the idea that the buses aren't running but DCPS is open is completely incongruous.

We'll make it a hiking adventure in the snow.

Call a cab.

Just stay home if this is not working for you. No big deal. Pretend school is closed --- if it was, you would be home from work watching your kid. Do the same damn thing and stop moaning.

And it's such an affordable option.
