Lots of girls love and thrive in that dynamic. I would personally think long and hard about taking my girls out of that pool.

Took my DD out of that pool and it was the best thing we ever did.

I would think the girls are nicer at BCC since there is much more economic diversity. And it would be much more fun.

I honestly don't believe your are a Holton mom. Otherwise you would know the huge diversity at Holton. Almost 30% are on financial aid and they have over 40% diversity. Many kids from other countries as well. There are rich Africans, middle income Bethesda kids, rich and poor Asians and Indians, kids from Middle east, Russian, Australian, English, etc... You can not judge a book by it's cover at that school. Some of the richest kids there are of color while some of the poorest are white. I think that is a huge bonus compared to BCC which is very much segregated friendships based on income and color.

My daughter is in upper school Holton and she is doing great. The school work is what it is. You take more classes, less study halls with more AP's and honors, your workload will be much higher; 2-4hrs a night. Some kids have more study halls and less rigorous classes and have maybe 1.5-2hrs of homework. They also have a block schedule so you only have your major classes 4 out of the 6 day cycle. This really helps with time management and getting work done. Usually there is only 2-3 classes MAX you have to finish in one night. So that way if you have a show, an event etc.. you don't have 5 subjects due to the next day.

How do you know what the diversity is among the financial aid recipients? Surely Holton does not break out information that way.

Is $ an issue?
