To the PP who compared Gray to Brown and Thomas, that's just nuts. I don't know what will ultimately shake out in Gray's shadow campaign, but he was not personally enriching himself. FWIW, while I dislike what Thomas did, I feel for Brown, whom I think was trying to create an upper middlle class lifestyle for his family and lacked the means to do so.

15:10 - thanks for posting the info about hate crime legislation. I'm appalled to find that it's applicable to speech. I have mixed feelings about hate crime legislation in general but I believe that what is typically called "hate speech" should not be outlawed - unless it is part and parcel of the kind of harassment that would be illegal.

And before anyone gets up in arms over this, the reason I oppose hate speech regulations is that it can be used against anyone who criticizes another demographic group. This kind of law can be too easily abused.

It amazes me how people are so comfortable with cheating. Oh "he hasn't been indicted yet . Innocent until proven guilty by a court of law". If that's the case then vote for him if you want. However, I'm my own person and this is a case where I don't believe him. I will not vote for a cheat. In addition stop giving him credit for plans that were in the works before he became Mayor. I don't like Rhee but she scarred enough teachers that they began to get their act together. That's the improvement you're witnessing right. Seems to me that Gray kept things status quo.
I don't care what RACE or gender the mayor is just as long as they bring equal prosperity to the black area too. There's still too much inequality, crime, lack of literacy in he's own residential area for me to give him credit for anything . Black folks wake up and don't vote for someone because they're black if they're not helping the black community. Any good mayor would bring economic prosperity to the area he lives in too.

Thompson did a shadow campaign for Hillary as well. She didn't know about it either. Does this make her unelectable in 2016?

No that does not change her ability to be elected. Conspiracy is the agreement if one or more persons to committ a crime. Here, witnesses allege Gray and Thompson had a meeting with the intent to start a shawdow campsign. Further they both carried out plans to commit this crime. If Hillary was unaware then she is not guilty of conspiracy thus the crime. I take it Gray is not an attorney otherwise he would have know his knowledge ,his discussions and the fact that he did nothing to stop it would make him guilty. That is if he did this. I don't believe any witnesses have said that. Where did you get this information. If this was true, Machen would have indicted him. Don't make up shit to try to push your agenda.
