$2900 mortgage 3 bd 2 bath in AU park. Bought 10 years ago. House needs major renovation.

$2415 mortgage (PITI) in Fairfax. 25% down, purchased in 2012. We actually rent it out now for more than the mortgage, but since we use a property manager (live out of the area) we just about break even. Makes me happy, though, since when we return, rent will likely be higher and we will have a house we own with a lower mortgage payment. I'm glad we bought when we did, because prices are up, as are interest rates.

I lived in anacostia once! Uptown, to me, was far more dangerous! I felt safe in anacostia! My house on Gresham pl got shot up. I immediately moved!

I would like your home. Same rent in Arlington for 3BR/2BA, but 1 BR/1BA are in the cold scary basement. We live in a shithole. Fantastic location though.
