My dd has a chewery necklace. She still chews her pen but at least half is directed to her necklace. What I wooly is now how to distract her from chewing the necklace all the time. She is in middle school and still chewing on her necklace. Wonder if it will stop??
It should stop. Peer pressure should stop her and she will then be chewing at home or discretely. My dd chews her pens all the time but somehow I notice that when she has friend over she does less of it. Still, that doesn't mean the habit goes away altogether even though I hope it would.
Remembered seeing this post and thinking which kid would do this. Pen chewing yes but chomping? Then my very own dd (15 yo) came home yesterday and walking home from church, she was chomping on a pen while walking! Not chomping while bored in class but chomping while walking? Ridiculous! Her coats, scarf etc now all have ink stains. Anyone has tips on how to get it out?
Haha. Maybe let this be a reminder she should stop chewing pens? I used to chew pens too and always had this pen case of mangled pens. many of my classmates also chewed their pens too but it always took a pen explosion to stop your habit forever! I stopped immediately too despite how hooked I was before to pen chewing when one exploded. I still can remember which class it happened too!
