Please suggest good DVDs to enjoy for 18 months old toddler boys

My 18 month old watches the theme songs of a couple of shows on YouTube. Unfortunately she will not sit through more than five minutes of any show except Martha Speaks (she loves dogs). Curious George and Yo Gabba Gabba are her favorite songs, and should work for boys too. She also likes the Sesame Street songs with Elmo and celebrities on YouTube, especially Adam Sandler, Jason Mraz, and Train.

Shouldn't watch TV until 24 months... Its a slippery slope once you start with the videos.

Ponyo-They will love and cherish this film forever. My Neighbor Totoro is really good too.

for 18 month olds? I mean, I love Studio Ghibli, but I think that's extremely ambitious for most kids under 4 or 5.

DS likes: Blue Planet on Netflix (he got into an underwater phase after a visit to the aquarium around 18 months), Mighty Machines/any construction site videos on YouTube, and, echoing an earlier PP, is captivated by 15-20 minutes of 1977's Winnie-the-Pooh (on Netflix).

Both my son and daughter liked the same videos at that age. What a weird request - boy videos ???

I'm the PP re: 1977 Winnie the Pooh and am curious. Does your DS lose attention shortly after Pooh is freed from Rabbit's door? I'm trying to figure out what is so fascinating about this first segment of the film!

+1. This is too young. I'm not judging PP, especially because they're twins, but it'll make life easier for you and them in the long run if you hold off on TV.

Yes!! Anything by mighty machines! I love this series for my sons! (Also, FYI, they are all on Netflix, too!)

BS. DD has been exposed to TV since around 18 mos. she's 4 now and knows well she only gets to watch it when she's sick.

What a pointless and stupid comment.

My 20-month-old is obsessed with Diego and has learned quite a bit from it -- Spanish phrases, facts about dinosaurs and other animals. When his older brother was that age, he loved Curious George.

Did you note that OP said they let their kids watch videos a couple of times a day?

Just remember to use TV as a tool for YOU to get stuff done. At that age, you are not doing your children any favors (despite "educational" labels on shows) by letting them watch tv.
