April 2014 Due Dates

Anonymous
I am the OP.
The date range was just any day of the 39th week, which I think is pretty standard for scheduled caseareans like this.
However, I feel two polar pulls in this: one, I was dating on the later end of a week's range in the early u/s and this confirms my thought that I ovulated/conceived a few days late... On the other hand, I have big babies and have a slight GD concern (just failed my one hour test), so I wonder if I should schedule earlier in the week...
Make sense?
Probably any day in the seven-ish says leading up to my given due date are fine. I just carry with me what one doctor told me once, that babies in stress (like in labor), even when early, seem to come out better in terms of fluid in the lungs than scheduled delivery babies. The idea being that the labor preps them for breathing. Another reason i wouldn't want to schedule too early - but how do we ever really know what is too early?

Hi OP, I am also going to have to pick a date for my C-section, but I've not yet had that conversation with the OB yet. It's a tough decision, and I wonder how I'm going to be advised ...

I am starting to feel tired and much slower as well. I don't have any Braxton-Hicks yet, but the baby kicking and moving around is pretty intense. I am 30 weeks today.

I'm 29 weeks and currently exhausted at work. Not sure if it's the Friday afternoon blues, limited sleep last night, or baby. Either way, I want my bed.

Otherwise, doing well minus some round ligament and back pain. I'm a FTM so I love the constant kicks!

30 weeks today, and UGHHHH my back is killing me. I think I overdid it in the nice weather on Monday (took my dog out for a really nice long walk), because I haven't been able to move properly since Tuesday morning. If I baby my back, my stomach is stretched and painful, and if I cradle my stomach, my back hurts.

I don't feel like I've gained that much weight (15 lbs or so) but clearly my body is telling me it's had enough!

10 more weeks, 10 more weeks...

I'm at 29 weeks today and feeling good usually, but so-so today. Having a lot of pain on my right side right underneath the bump. It almost feels like my abdomen is tearing at some moments...yikes! It's happened about 3-4 times since Christmas. Has anyone else experienced this? Hopefully, some restorative yoga will help tonight.

At 31 weeks, fatigue and hip pain have hit me like a ton of bricks. I have never done yoga before, but I'm thinking about trying prenatal yoga. Does it offer some relief?

I don't know about yoga, but monthly chiro adjustments have done wonders for me, physically.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've never been to a chiro. I always imagined it to be painful, but at this point it's probably worth a try!

OMG, where did my energy go? I was fine until this week (week 30). Now I can barely keep my eyes open. Ack! This is not the time to get fired!!

Any recommendations for snacks/drinks to get you through the afternoon hours?

Just heard on Dr Oz the other day that coconut water is supposed to help with the afternoon energy slump! Haven't tried it yet myself but plan to soon. I've been saving my 2nd cup of coffee for the afternoon now...

I am wondering how other April moms are feeling. I am 36 weeks now and am generally exhausted and physically uncomfortable - its hard to get up/get down and sleep. I still feel like there's so much to do - insurance forms, etc! Anyone else?

Oh, I hear you, PP. (OP here.)
I am not as far as you, but starting to get so uncomfortable; can't sit comfortably, can't lie down or sleep comfortably, and get move around long without feeling completely worn out.
The frustrating thing is that I felt great with my previous two pregnancies; this third one is wiping me out!

How is everyone doing in terms of prep?
I haven't done much, simply because I can't move / lift anything, but I am nesting terribly and wish my magic wand would prepare a baby's room and clean up my room.

We are not prepped at all! We haven't bought anything for the new baby we expect we can reuse some stuff. Our older daughter is 16 months so still using a lot of it. We started to get the car seat out to put it back in the car but we haven't done much yet. Need to wash the old baby clothes and pack the hospital bag. Ive been having a lot of stomach pain so we want to be ready to go just in case sooner rather than later!
