St. Stephens/St. Agnes (VA) school visit

Our DD really liked it, too.

They have some really hot moms at that school.

We are wondering whether we will get any feedback from the day, positive or negative. Anyone know?

We did not get any feedback. I got the sense that if your child was having a really tough time they would talk to you to see if s/he was sick, tired, etc...

Yes. If you get an acceptance letter in March, that means your kid did well.

Also wondering if anyone got feedback, whether any children were not as happy as PPs, and whether the school visit can make or break an application? DC has terrific WPPSI scores and recommendations but was hesitant at the school visit. I think she was just overwhelmed.

Depends on who you ask re: whether it makes or breaks. My theory is that it can be a tie-breaker. Did your DD end up separating from you with tears? Or just hesitation? Did she come back happy? That is probably an indication of how it went.
What is the "terrific" WPPSI score? How do you know the recommendation (should only be one) is good?

I have nothing to do with admissions. But, as an SSSAS parent and based on our experiences, I would expect the admissions staff to be looking out for children that are ready for school (so, would think hesitation nothing to worry about, but a major emotional breakdown that required your return, more of a problem and probably a sign that your child is truly not ready for anywhere just yet) - same for ability to follow instructions, being generally receptive to new people, places, and experiences - and are basically kind.

Before you all panic over this, don't you think these schools consider the fact that children may actually mature in the 9 months or so, between now and next September? A four year old who falls apart now may be a very confident little person by next September.

It would be helpful to get some kind of feedback or report card from these visits, e.g., what child did, anything specific that child enjoyed, things child may not have been interested in or potential areas of improvement, etc.

We love SSSAS, but got no sense of what happened at the school visit whatsoever. DC ran in without issue and came out saying it was "fine" but we got no sense of what they were looking for, if anything. It would be helpful for the admissions committee to give feedback, if any was collected (I assume it was?)???

Did anyone discuss the visit at a parent interview this week? Or did any existing SSSAS families get any feedback at the parent interview?

I think you might get feedback. Can't really remember which schools sent out notes and/or pictures from the day but I think they did.

Speaking of parent interviews, can anyone report on what happened during theirs, and what kids of questions were asked, what you discussed, etc? First school interview parent here, and very anxious!

Really? I hope this is true!

I was stunned by how many kids were there.

No feedback here. Would like some.
