Preschool teacher dresses inappropriately

Yes, but still, if she ever wants to direct a school, develop curriculum with colleagues in other programs, mentor younger women studying to be preschool teachers... she'll have a harder time being taken seriously.

(I was not suggesting she should "aspire" to something grand.)

Yes,I noticed the quotes, but what 18:47 said wasn’t condescending. Poster merely stated a fact – that perhaps the teacher’s goal is to be really good at what she does in the classroom. You interpreted his/her words as being condescending. Being a preschool teacher can indeed be an aspiration. Running a school can be an aspiration. Both careers are equally important, for a school is only as good as its teachers.

Your previous line - (I was not suggesting she should "aspire" to something grand.) – is a bit derogatory b/c you’re implying that her aspirations – if she were to remain in the classroom – are not grand.

I'm the poster from 18:47. I happen to think being a really, really good preschool teacher IS a great aspiration. No condescension was intended.
