What is your HHI and what is your monthly take-home after taxes/insurance?

$430K gross, $18,400 net after taxes, insurance and 401k contribtutions.

$280k not counting bonuses. Take home: 12k/mo, or a little over half.

240k, maxing out two 401ks. take home around 11k

230K. Take home is 7200/paycheck, 14,400 per month. I don't contribute to 401K and pay health insurance only for 2 people. This is after Social Security is finished for the year. Before that, it's 6600/paycheck. I also take extra in anticipation of our mortgage interest deduction.

You pay less than 19% between SS, fed, and state taxes?

Oops you're right. I just checked my bank statement and I'm not even close to 7200/per paycheck. I wish. Tired tired tired.

Sorry asshole, but this thread gives you no basis for judging whether people are either overpaid or underworked. It tells you nothing about their value.

One of the PPs. I live outside DC, in a city with fantastic amenities. I make more outside DC.

HHI is 200k almost exactly.
Take home is about 10500.

Seems about on the mark depending on insurances/etc

You must have very low insurance costs, and/or not be contributing much to a 401K.

Yes to both. Will up it once we get done with the beating we're taking for DD's college tuition.

Take home $11K (2nd half of year...1st half is less due to FICA)

2 kids

maxed out 401K

That is ridiculous. Two people with $100K jobs will each pay FICA all year. One person making $200K will only pay it for half the year, and pay half as much total.

(Not saying PP is ridiculous--it's the system).

I'm $82K as well, take home $4,250 monthly after IRA (7%) and health insurance deductions. And I thought my take home was low!
