^^^NP here. What is so odd about a 2200, a 3.9 GPA, and a powerful EC hook? Not everyone who is admitted to the Ivys has perfect scores, and there are exceptional cases. College Confidential is full of posters who have perfect scores and didn't get into HYP while you have others who are scratching their 3.7 GPA heads and can't figure out why they got in but are grateful.
While perfect scores certainly make the road a heckuva lot easier, I have read time after time that perfect scores and grades are not always the key. If that were the case, every single student at every IVY and Stanford (non-Ivy) would be admitted with a 2400 and 4.0 GPA. So, not sure why you think PP is a troll unless I missed something. I don't have that good of a memory for posts going back several months. |
PP again. While I do think 2100 is not the best score for an Ivy, nothing surprises me anymore about admissions. Total crapshoot,. |
I agree, she is on a decline, and it is not "middle of the year", it's the end. She will be most likely applying on the strength of her first three years, if she is on a decline that is problematic. If you think that decline will continue she should apply EA or ED because then the insitutions will be basing their decision on her first three years only and not the fourth year which sounds like it may drop even further. However, if you think she had pull it up and strengthen her record, you should do the opposite. |
Could you expound a bit on EA or ED? Though the college would see the stronger grades and possibly admit based on that, would colleges withdraw an acceptance once the final grades are submitted and a 'decline' is noted! I'm not the OP but definitely curious. |
| ^ no, not to the degree that is being discussed. |
