% FARMS means diddly

When boundary lines are drawn and redrawn without natural boundaries then we are defacto busing. I can move lines easily enough to reduce poverty. In Maryland there a very few natural boundaries. In other states it is community / town lines.

I wish people would stop talking about how great their schools are and just say that they are exclusive because blue ribbon usually mean low farms this is why they now have high farm blue ribbon schools these school would not qualify if it wasn't for the fact that you have to have a certain % of farms to qualify.

Sending kids to schools that are closest to them builds a sense of community which encourages parents to visit. When you send them to a community further away, all sorts of other issues arise.

This is so true. I think it's hard to appreciate how many benefits come with having a neighborhood school as opposed to busing until you've experienced both first hand.

When I taught in a bussed school, it was very difficult to get parents to come in. Transportation and fear were issues.
