I don't get what the big deal is beyond that though. The woman who hunts moose and takes animals off the endangered species list stood next to turkeys being slaughtered. Big surprise.

This is actually a good observation. Why WOULD anyone be shocked by this now that I think of it?

I don't think that there is a "team" anymore. She is no longer a candidate.

As a governor of a state, she still presumably has a staff including a scheduler and press person.

And I hate CNN showed that video without a fair warning.

Oh boo hoo hoo. You are happy to eat slaughtered animals, you just don't want to know how it is done. Cowardly and unconscionable.

Everyone who eat meats should have to know how and where it comes from. This would do more for animal rights than anything else.

And I say this as a carnivore (albeit one who only eats humanely reared animals).

Oh, I will still eat turkey, just not this week...this week I will eat veal - so yumm and tender!

I still don't get the outrage that Palin was taped in front of a man slaughtering a turkey. To me, this is just the same as a politician going on a photo op at a factory, and being interviewed while the workers are assembling cars in the background.

Maybe to city folk, animal "harvesting" is a really big, bad thing -- or witnessing it is -- but to people who live in rural areas, this is just a part of life. It isn't shameful. It seemed to be sanitary, and humane (well, as much as any method of animal killing can be said to be humane.)

If you are a vegetarian, I guess I can understand thinking this is weird and being offended by it, or upset that Palin was in front of the harvesting, and let the taping go on.

But otherwise -- as a PP pointed out, this woman hunts moose. Lots of people do; certainly in Alaska a lot of people hunt.

As for the irony of her pardoning a turkey -- well, she pardoned ONE turkey; understandably, the rest get slaughtered.

I'd say it was cutting off their heads. Don't you see all the blook just under the cone? Also the blood on the guys pants?

She needs to use some of that $7 million on a new hairdresser. I had this hair style 24 years ago.
