Williams is excluded? Likely due to their strenth in diversifying?

The people, the stores the taste level...its beautiful but a little stuffy for me personally any my daughter who is Italian always talks about it being waspier lately...not sure how it compares to other schools though but I can say the area (Main Line) is definitely very waspy.

Yes, it may be preppy, but WASP stands for white Anglo-Saxon PROTESTANT. Which means that it does not include Catholics. Sorry!

Williams is a NESCAC school. And the top ones, Williams, A,Herat, Middlebury still have some WASPs but are getting more and more diverse.

Hampden Sydney for sure

Yeah Villanova is EXTREMELY Catholic. Therefore, not waspy. Very white. Very expensive. Very blue blood/old money. Very preppy. Waspy? Not so much

Does it draw from outside the DC Boston corridor?

Williams is NOT waspy. My stepson went there and its anything but. Amherst, Conn College, Bowdoin and Trinity yes.

Amherst is more diverse than Williams both racially and socioeconomically. My AA, DC is currently there so are several family friends. DC was also accepted at Williams but declined because of blatant ongoing racial issues on campus. And, it's actually located in a pretty remote area.

aka Hampden-Sydney?

Yep. I realized as I was driving home that I had spelled it wrong. It was only the second-stupidest thing I did today, too. Sigh.
Not worth being embarrassed about. I'm sure you're not the first person to make that mistake and you won't be the last.

Yes. Tons of kids from the West Coast and quite a few from Florida and Chicago as well.

Bowdoin and Middlebury? Waspy or not?

I think Middlebury perhaps a little more. Was too small and remote for my daughter though.

Hobart and Smith has got to be high this list.

Try University of Richmond.

Just finished a huge round of 3 weekends in a row "college shopping". My observations are most of the LAC's are pretty waspy.

Amherst, Bowdoin, Connecticut College and Middlebury for the LAC'S.

U of Richmond is too.
