"Omaring" should be COMParing... |
They "counsel" the kids out. |
DCPS isn't educating the severely disabled either. They ship them all out to outside schools. DCPS has already set that precedent of outplacement for special needs kids, with OSSE's blessings. To hammer on charters on that point is thus hypocritical. |

That suggests DCPS was thriving until charters came along and broke them, and we all know that's not true. The reality is that charters enroll more high poverty students than DCPS does, and gets better academic results with them. With that in mind, the more the better. |
What do you mean by "severely disabled"? If you're talking about the kind of students that end up at St. Colleta's, DCPS isn't educating them either. |
That is not true. Bridges PCS does. |
| New question on this topic: would you walk your kids to the new Two Rivers campus? |
Yes. I would hope off of the street car and walk right up to the front door of the school. |
"hop" not "hope" |
From where? There's no metro within a one mile radius. It's surrounded by other schools (Phelps, and Springarn and Brown - at least one of which is closing) and the golf course. Driving is pretty much the only option. |
| What is the address of the school? |
|
There are other options other than driving.
The trolley and the bus runs down Benning Road. this means that parents/student will walkd from Benning Road to get the the school. If they ever get the trolleys running. |
I really want to like the streetcar plan; but it's going to be a long time before we can say it has proven itself. |
