Science Museum, other museums, Tate Modern often has cool stuff, lots of parks and playgrounds everywhere like Coram's field, boat trip down Thames, London Eye, Kew Gardens, Windsor Castle (not for 3 year old though), Tower of London, double decker bus rides...check Time Out for other stuff - there are always things going on. |
| Loved Lisbon. Easy to navigate metro. One of the best acquariums. Incredibly friendly people that love kids. Plenty of history and kid friendly activities. Language is no problem. |
I have been twice - last year when my dd was 2.5 and we stayed for 8 days. This year, and we only stayed for 3 days. Both times we had lots of fun, but here are a few highlights of our trip: Las Ramblas during the day (didn't think it was anything special during the night, but it is ok too). Sagrada Familia (my daughter couldn't care less, but we enjoyed. It is amazing to see all the details) Parc Guel (we ALL loved it!). It was free both times, but they will begin to charge EU12.00 this fall to maintain it. I think it is very fair. La pedrera - we all loved as well, for different reasons of course. Casa Batilo - very pretty, interesting. I went last year and this year only walked by - It was worth the 20.00 euros or something, but not twice. Maybe when she is older we will go back. Beach - OF COURSE! Aquarium - a very good one. And there are some sort of "toys" outside, such as that jumping elastic thing. You wrap yourself in the elastic and jump very high. I have not idea how it is called. My 2.5y did it last year and she had a blast!!! Other similar stuff. We only stayed in Barcelona and didn't do any day trip, but there are some options if you want to explore branching out. The food is amazing, and if you go, consider visiting a restaurant some locals suggested to us - PACO MERALGO. FIRST thing I did once we got to Barcelona this year, was to head straight to PACO MERALGO for lunch after checking in our hotel It is THAT good!
Oh, and of course, LA BOQUERIA!!! Go and explore. It is amazing!!! |
I am from Barcelona and your recommendations are great! I have 3 kids and we go every year. Plenty to do. When you want a break, just take the kids to the beach, or to the maremagnum by the old port (where the aquarium, or the 3D theater is). or take them to the zoo. the city is packed with parks. Just seat and enjoy a drink relaxing at any terrace while your kids run around playing with other kids. |
