My ex did this type of thing. Still does it, but alas, we mostly communicate in writing. Instead he now springs last-minute changes on me with these elaborate stories that he actually thinks make a different and that I believe.

My point -- a liar lies about things big and small. He anticipates a negative reaction, therefore he lies to avoid the potential confrontation. What he's not realizing is, when you're married, thems the breaks.

To respond to all the hyped up PPs who say you're a shrew, have you thought about your reaction had he approached this like an adult?

"Honey, Drunk Dan is in town for the night and I made plans to meet him for drinks. I'll be home by 12. I figured this was fine since we did not have plans. I know that leaves you stuck at home tonight, so how about you take some time off for yourself tomorrow. You deserve a break too!" Sigh. Would be nice, huh?
