So you're saying my stereotype is weak because it applies to medicine as well? I think that strengthens it. We live in an entitled society. True, it's not just Big Law |
| Whether she’s entitled or not, is or is not looking for a job, was or was not pushed out -- it isn’t your business until and unless she ever asks for money. It isn’t unheard of in certain fields like biglaw and i-banking to work hard for a while, be done with the job or have the job not work out, and then take a break for as much as a year or more while you figure out the next step. They do it for lots of reasons -- sometimes they don’t just want to jump from one firm to another one that’s exactly the same and need some time and distance to figure it out; frankly sometimes they do it because they are just done with the job and have enough money that they can coast for a few years and travel. You especially see this happen before there are kids to support. I really don’t think she’s acting abnormally or that this is predictive of what her career will look like in a year or 5 years so you may just be borrowing trouble. |
Shove it. Just because there are other stressful jobs doesn't mean law is any less stressful. Collecting trash? I have respect for all kinds of jobs but collecting trash doesn't create the same stress that closing a $1 bill financing does. You just sound jealous because of the pay. |
+25. I'd be jealous too. |
I am not jealous of a big baby! You sound pathetic - nobody is jealous or wants to be like you. |
+1 How the fuck is collecting trash stressful?? |
