8:37 took a lot of time on that sarcasm
To OP -- not a problem with taking her to concert at 12 if most of the audience will be teenagers. Would wait until 14 for more adult concerts at such a large venue. And the pot and drinking commenters must be confusing concerts with Redskins games. Too expensive to drink a lot at Verizon and any smoking gets caught immediately by ushers. |
Nah. 'Bout 90 seconds is all it took

Dh took 12 yo son to the show at 930 club in January and was completely taken with his awesome political talking (talking about how important it was to vote, definitely pro-Obama -it was right around inauguration). Also he was very outspoken in support of gay marriage (same love song but also between song talking).
The gist was thst he was very appreciative and very true to his Beleifs-the kids left inspired and outraged - FYI-we lean heavily liberal |
| It's likely your child will be exposed to these things at some point. Being there to discuss them with her and creating an open line of communication versus sheltering them from inevitable exposure seems will send a message that she can be open with you and know you are there to guide her. Pre teens are exposed to much more than parents realize particularly if they have older siblings or their friends do. It's a personal parenting judgement call but it doesn't seem like you are being a best friend. You are creating a learning environment while bonding with your child. |
