My baby just had a seizure.

Anonymous
Our Yorkie had seizures, many of them, when she was 4-6 yrs. old- she's now 11 and has been seizure free since she was 6. We never had a diagnosis after having diagnotic testing but my vet recommended not getting any vaccines other than rabies. She has a waiver with our boarder.

Her seizures were awful to watch! I'd hold her and watch the clock to make sure they weren't lasting longer than 5 minutes.

A bit crazy-pantsed there, OP.

Unless you gave birth to a dog the dog is not your baby. You will make the real mom angry.

So adoptive moms aren't really moms either? You might seriously need to get laid, your are really ugly when you are frustrated!

And yes. I do love my dog like he is my child. I have no human children, and he is the closest thing I've got. Who is anyone to tell me I can't possibly love him as much as a human? To the person asking if I've ever even had a child: have you ever had a dog ? If so, you must know or be able to imagine what I'm going through, unless you are a heartless person. If not, then you have absolutely no idea what I'm going through and should probably just butt out now.

Yes, I'm PP and yes, I've had three dogs over the course of my life.

And no, I didn't love them anywhere near how much I love my child, though I loved them very much. It's not even close.

So what if OP couldn't have her own children (not saying that is the case, just offering a what if scenario) and she chose to love her animals like children?

Where do some of you breeders get off acting so superior just because you have the blessing of your children! I am happy for you, but not everyone is as lucky, and you sure as hell aren't gracious about it nor has it taught you any empathy for others...

I'd love for her to enjoy her dog to the fullest. But the word "baby" is taken. If she wants to co-opt it, she'll get some flack from people with actual babies.

It's slang, you moron! Sometimes a guy refers to his car as his "baby." An author refers to her book as her "baby." It's slang for something that is important to you, that you cherish and nurture and baby (the verb usage of the word).

Get over yourself! You don't own the word "baby."

I have epilepsy and babies and pets. OPs subject line was upsetting. After you--or your actually human child has had many tests, many seizures, many broken bones from seizures, been eliminated from consideration for certain jobs, had to take certain precautions when pregnant--after you have done all that you might understand why I found it alarming.

It was clear it was posted in the "pets" forum. Honestly, I'm tired of people who get offended and alarmed so easily. Maybe part of the problem is that you react and make assumptions before even glancing at the forum it's in or reading the post.

How do people like you manage to go on the Internet without having a panic attack?

Seriously, it was CLEAR that it was her dog. No one would post about their child in the "pets" forum.

And besides, I'm sure there are plenty of people who have children who have seizures of some sort. Are you saying you are so delicate that you get SO upset if you see a title that even suggests that? Really? Maybe you shouldn't go on forums. And I'm being honest here.

Maybe you should learn a lesson from this -- don't react to a post until you READ the actual post, not just the title.

Couldn't have said it better myself. People are ridiculous.

I have three kids and one dog. My dog doesn't have epilepsy, but one of my children does. I am 100% not offended by the use of baby. I still tell my sweet 13 year old pup that she's my first baby.

No idea why the Recent Topics PPs are getting so upset. Go back to Off Topic and bitch over there.

Another person with epilepsy. All of my pets are my babies. OP, please let us know how your sweet baby is doing.

Some people aren't happy unless they can shit on someone else.
