Thanks for this info. I knew that there was a difference between Hispanic and Latino but it was never very clear. I had heard the term Chicano but not Mestizo. What you wrote made it clear and it makes it easier to remember as well.

I was at a running store recently, asking a sales guy for advice on a new belt to wear that will comfortably accommodate the new iPhone's largess size. The guy proceeded to tell he how wonderful he found it to just invest in a small ipod for when he goes running.

The things guys just don't have to worry about. And no, carrying my phone with me on the trails and woodsy paths has nothing to do with making sure I get all my texts.

I lived there 25 years ago and I would never go on those trails alone back then. There have always been weirdoes around that whole thing.

Of course if someone is worried, I would recommend walking/running on the W&OD instead of 4MRT. But damn people, wear something reflective at night, and do be careful when making a u turn - pedestrians have ROW over cyclists, but you do not have to make things more difficult/dangerous than they need to be.

Haitians are not black, but many Latin American countries have black populations, which means they are Latino. There are Latinos of every color, as some countries even have Asians.
