There are more million dollar sales in the Langley and McLean HS districts than in all of Arlington, or in the rest of Fairfax County combined. It's families with kids, not empty nesters or childless couples, buying these homes.

Humble brag

Don't forget the saudi oil tycoons

It's a fact. And enrollment at some of the McLean schools is the highest now it's been at any point in the last 15 years. Maybe we should start new threads about it every day to give the PH boosters a breather.

So guess they are over capacity? Sounds bad.

A few, but it's OK. Better than being in the neighboring district where the School Board periodically discussed closing the high school and one of the elementary schools until the enrollment finally started to increase.

+1 on both locations. I haven't a clue and find all the squabbling about it funny.

Same here. I make sure to click on all those threads when I need a good laugh.

Pimmit Hills is West of 66, north of Rte 7, east of Rye 123 and south of the Dulles Toll Road.

The Mosaic District is the old Merrifield.

Both have great potential and if planned correctly will be great additions to a "smart" growth strategy.

Pimmitt Hills originally was a smaller version of a Levittown.

Merrifield was just the intersection of two large roads (Rte 29 and Gallows Road) with a great nursery and a huge central post office.

Pimmitt Hlls is very well situated to Tyson's and has access to an existing Library, several grocery stores and Metro on either side of it. However, I know of know real development plan for it- so it will likely be piecmeal.

Mosaic District is more from scratch and has potential because it seems to be being developed with an actual plan.

We shall see.

Agreed. I am too lazy to google it and really don't care - except to know this is someplace I will never live. But some people on this board sure are excited about it!

Thanks, but I think I'll just go to the party at the PH embassy in DC.
