Buttered toast fingers (mouillettes) dipped in soft-boiled egg (oeuf a la coque).

Or crepes au chocolat on the weekends, made by DH.

Cheese blintzes with cherries and sour cream. Too labor intensive to make more than a few times a year-- yeah, I'm lazy in the morning. I also have to eat protein for breakfast to make my ADD medication work well, so I often eat some leftover meat from dinner the night before, like a piece of chicken or steak. Any sugar or carbs from bread, etc., seem to make the drug less effective, so I try to eat protein alone in the morning.

Savory hot oatmeal or buckwheat or millet with butter (I can't stand grains cooked with sugar). Toasts made similar to French, but salt instead of sugar. Arborio rice or oatmeal cooked with milk.
Farmers cheese with fruits, sour cream, honey. Toast with ricotta cheese topped with berries and mint and honey. Coffee, unsweetened black tea with lemon, or milk. Open faced sandwiches with cheese and butter on a very thin slice of rye bread. Boiled egg with egg yolk being warm but liquid.

I am raised in Europe, so such foods can look strange to Americans.

I'm an American. These foods don't sound strange at all. They sound delicious. We don't all sit around stuffing our faces with pancakes (not that there's anything wrong with that once in a while!).

PS I'm the poster who posted about loving soft boiled eggs and croissants.

Fresh baguette or Tuscan style bread with French/Euro butter and jam, smoked salmon and eggs scrambled with chives and creme fresh, a mocha from Starbucks, served with fresh mango or berries, and perhaps a dollop of yogurt.

Sometimes I liked to swap out the salmon for prosciutto.

I'd basically eat anything they trot out at Le Pain Quotidien and call it my favorite.
