The person at CVS started preparing tests even before he examined me. Then he wouldn't give me anything at all. He didn't understand why I was angry. I am going to my doctor today.l I will get plenty of meds to wipe this out, however I've lost a day of work--something I was trying to avoid. Will never go to any minute clinic again and will post about this on yelp.

OP, it sounds like you have bronchitis...which doesn't respond to antibiotics.

Wrong. Antibiotics are given for bronchitis to reduce the chance of a secondary infection.

Very, very, old think. Antibiotics are not given in the absence of an acute infection.

In the last month I went to a minute clinic thinking I had bronchitis, was told to up vitamin c and use an antihistamine for comfort. A week later, I went to my GP with chest pain and no improvement in symptoms. Thinking the minute clinic ruled out bronchitis, I began to think I had developed penumonia. GP said bronchitis, prescribed me a z pack and the chest pain was gone within a day. Everything was stuck in my bronchial tubes and I wasn't coughing up any sign of infection, 10 days later I was fine. Just my experience. BTW, it was tenlytown CVS I went to and while I was surprised she didn't prescribe me an anyibiotic, I wasn't unhappy with her advice especially since I didn't have any signs of an infection.

i just want to chime in that i've been to the Minute Clinic in Tenley and in Bethesda and have had consistently excellent experiences there. i actually prefer it over the pediatrician for relatively minor complaints (strep, skin issue etc).

I went to this minute clinic once and the Nurse Practioner just stood there chatting with someone for over 20 minutes while there were three people waiting outside. It was social chatting, not medical chat. I wanted to wrong her neck and say be done with your chatty self and get to work.

That said, when it was my turn and I asked for a quick strep test I was given it right away and it was negative.

Glad you got relief, OP.
