Did I say it was a bad thing? Projecting much? |

Too logical! More fun to ask DCUM ppl who have no idea what street you are talking about, or that live miles and miles away! |
You could try it, but you'd be in Silver Spring so I'm not sure how helpful that is. |
Grubb Road is the dividing line between Chevy Chase and Silver Spring. We used to live on the Chevy Chase side of the neighborhood, off of Grubb, and it did feel like sketchy Chevy Chase. There were frequent car break-ins, and multiple neighbors had home robberies or attempted robberies. I often saw teenagers around who appeared to be casing the street. I was once almost car-jacked at the traffic light at EW Hwy and Grubb. Our street was one of the nicer ones too- bigger homes, and some tear downs and major renovations. We did have nice, unpretentious neighbors. While in was convenient and close-in, and I had a posh-sounding Chevy Chase address, I couldn't wait to get out of there! Call me a snob if you want! |
| Wait, there are speed camera trucks?! |

Parts of CC gentrifying?? That's the funnist thing I've ever heard!!
I've lived here almost 40 years, and CC has always been the same. |
See 18:13. This turned out to be very helpful. Don't you just hate it when you think you know it all, but so obviously don't? |
It's actually more of a little van. |
| I live is the tough part of Chevy Chase. Just this morning while I was unloading the produce I purchased at the farmers' market a thug grabbed a carton of organic parsnips and made a getaway in a Prius. It's rough here on the streets of the CC. |

Some time back I was driving my CCMD teen and friends home after we dropped off 2 other kids -- 1 in Potomac and another in Kenwood. The following exchange among the kids might be the funniest thing I've ever overheard while driving carpool:
CCMD teen #1: "Kenwood -- the poor man's Potomac." CCMD teen #2: "Chevy Chase -- the poor man's Kenwood." |
Very funny on several levels. |
Thanks -- glad you enjoyed it (I honestly wasn't sure if anyone would get it). Always drive the carpool -- the memories are priceless. |
