Paint you like (besides Behr)

I also like Mystic. Another low VOC brand comp. to Ben Moore.

Agree with this. I used Mythic in my house for chemical avoidance reasons. The Natura/aura might have been a better product in terms of ease of painting with it, but it was more expensive so I went with mythic. Depending on how that holds up I will either use that again next time I need to or go with BM's Natura or aura. Mythic can be mixed in any of the other paint brand colors (we've used a number of Behr colors) and I got it at true value.

Often, the tints that they put in paint alters its VOC level. So, Mythic paint base can be low- or no-VOC, but once you add in colors, you get VOCs again. Just something to be aware of.

I've not used it, but Consumer Reports rated Clark + Kensington paint (an Ace Hardware store product) very highly. I really like Benjamin Moore Aura, but C + K is less than half the price. So I may be trying that for my next project.

This is also part of why I chose mythic- their colorants are also free of Voc's.

I was the one who posted earlier about VOCs in paint tints -- I did not know that Mythic's colorants are also free of VOCs. Thanks for that! I will have to try it.
