The characteristics of a sociopath

He's a sociopath.

So I wonder if Sally Jenkins is going to write another "Lance is a good man and nothing short of murder is going to convince me otherwise" column.

Because he wants to compete in triathalons now.

THANK YOU! Me, too, and IIRC, he left Sheryl Crow when she got cancer! I don't understand anyone who hasn't thought he was an emotionless dick.

I heart you

Me too.

I think he is a sociopath, a narcisst and terrible, terrible human being. His own parents and anyone who supported him knowing the truth should be ashamed. And no, I don't think this interview will help him come back

From the way he confessed I think he still doesnt believe what he did was wrong. Sheryl Crow dodged a bullet with that one.

He is definitely acting like the kid whose mom makes him apologize to the kid he doesn't like. It's all very, "FINE I'M SORRY" and you can tell he doesn't mean a word of it. He just thinks he has to do this in order to be able to compete in any field again.

All the cyclists I know have hated him from day one. I was a Basso fan.

I was discussing this with my husband a few weeks ago- how else could a normal person accept awards, accolades, admiration, praise, etc. knowing he didn't deserve it?? He had people (children even!) worshiping him, and it was for something he did not do! My conscience just wouldn't allow it. I could not live my life like that as a fraud. It's amazing to me that he could for so long.

Because cycling has a very LONG history of doping! They all dope.

I would think that yes, he displays some symptoms of sociopathy. The fact that he would lie about anything and everything to win at all costs, including suing innocent people, bullying teammates, etc etc indicates that he does not have a moral compass. He clearly understands right from wrong but does not care. He clearly cannot put anyone else's needs above his own.

Bottom line - he's probably not going to turn into a serial killer, but he's a scary person and I pity the people who are or were close to him.

I dunno, as crazy as it is, I bet some people are still die-hards who will stick up for him.

Last year, my dad, who is otherwise a very reasonable man, went ape shit when I gently said there was a POSSIBILITY that Lance really was a doper (before the charges were made official etc). He was adamant that Lance was a good man and refused to even discuss it further. I'm not sure why he was so emotional about it, but there must be others. I haven't dared to broach the topic with him again, even with this new confession.

Seriously. Lance Armstrong. Manti T'eo...The third horseman of the sports apocalypse is approaching. Who will be America's Next Tonya Harding??? It is time for Oprah to release the Africanized Bees during the Super Bowl, according to plan.
