It IS true. Why don't you look things up before posting as if you know what you are talking about??? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/21/columbine-armed-guards_n_2347096.html |

No way. Armed security guards are often former military. We don't support our vets with the mental health services they often need. It's a vicious cycle. Remember when "going postal" was "common" in post offices in the 80s? They were often Vietnam Vets. Veteran hiring preferences and all that. I don't want people with guns near my kids, period, until we care as a nation about the mental health side of all of this as well.

Was researching the above to see if it was true (mass shootings caused by former Vietnam Vets) and haven't found that yet.
But I did find this database: http://www.nycrimecommission.org/initiative1-shootings.php |
| Who's paying to educate all the illegal children in this county alone, one of the largest sanctuaries in the country? |
Because libs don't understand the concept of 'local level'. Look at these responses! |
You keep reading the Huff Post. I'll read an actual newspaper. In the NY Daily News: "Neil Gardner, who was stationed at the school but was not there when gunmen attacked" "Gardner rushed back to the school after Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold began the gruesome rampage that left 13 people dead and 24 injured on April 20, 1999." |
|
Note too, the Columbine shooters original plan:
11:17 After placing two 20-lb. propane bombs in the cafeteria, Harris and Klebold go back out to the student parking lots to sit in their respective cars and wait for the bombs to explode. · From their cars, they have a clear view of the cafeteria area. Based on comments Klebold and Harris made in their homemade videotapes, the investigation determined the two planned to shoot any surviving students able to escape from the cafeteria after the bombs exploded. · Klebold and Harris also have bombs constructed with timers in their cars, set to go off once they go back into the school. |
Dammit, not was have to ban Home Depot! |
Trying to parse this.... You mean "now we have to ban Home Depot?" right? Try not to let the perfect be the enemy of the good enough. We know we can't prevent ALL violence, but all steps big and small will bring us to a less violent place. |
| Especially abortion and government workers pay. 90% |
It's also pretty relevant that all of their bombs failed. All of their guns worked. If the second amendment covered pipe bombs, they would have bought them from H&K online, all of them would have worked, and we would be arguing with you over what blast radius should be permitted. |
This report is wrong. Gardner was on school property, in his patrol car eating lunch while monitoring the " smoker's pit." He exchanged gunfire with the gunmen after they placed the bombs, but before they actually shot anybody. Because he was already in is car he probably got to the back parking lot FASTER than had he been on foot. Please do some real research before posting bad info on here. http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2000/columbine.cd/Pages/DEPUTIES_TEXT.htm |
| Bottom line: Having an armed "good guy" did not prevent the tragedy. More importantly, the shooters KNEW there was an armed guard in the school, but it did not deter them. Maybe there are too many guns floating around society. |
Some bombs worked. One gun jammed. |
All four guns worked, although one later jammed. Only a couple of their 67 bombs went off. They had lots of knives, too, but didn't use them. Guns are the most efficient weapon to kill humans. And convenient, too. Walmart, America's top gun profiteer, sells them. |
