| I want tighter gun control, and yes, a ban on assault weapons. Will this happen? I hope so. I also personally would love to have an armed guard at my child's school. Sad, but I would. Does it have to be one or the other? |
Yeah I guess I kind of feel the same way. And wouldn't it be awesome if Obama totally embraced the NRA's suggestion (and also banned semi automatic weapons from the public of course). |
|
The NRA knows this won't go anywhere and they just want to blame Congress for not doing anything to prevent school shooting but saying they didn't follow their recommendation.
Those f*ckers don't care about school shootings at all. |

Taxing weapons is a great idea. Do it like Virginia taxes cars. You have to pay the tax every year to keep up the registration.
If these gun wackos want the US to look like Mogadishu were every adult male carries a weapon, let's see what they say about paying for it. |
|
Blah blah blah more guns blah blah blah no restrictions on gun sales blah blah blah more guns blah blah blah tax payers should pay to buy more guns blah blah blah
- spokesman for organization whose mission is to manufacture more guns No news there. Just a guy doing his job. |
| Here's an idea....cut off welfare, section 8, stop printing money you don't have and then you'd funds to take care of the kiddies. |
|
There was an armed guard at Columbine. He and Harris exchanged gunfire but neither hit the other.
Not sure an armed guard is the answer. |
Not true. That was a responding police officer. |
How much of the Federal budget do you think Section 8 is? This is like saying "Cut WIC and we can have universal healthcare." |
| So the NRA's response is that we need more guns? I'm shocked. |
| I would gladly give my hard earned money to a program that put police officers in every school. Much better than some of that pork we get shoved down our throats. |
Do it on a local level. Police, Sheriff, whatever. Taking an officer and placing them in the school for a three month rotation is not going to cost that much. It could be subsidized by the government, but I don't see why it would need to be a big bureaucratic nightmare. |
|
"An" officer? Our school district has more than 200 schools....
|
| ... but I agree, there's no bureaucratic "nightmare"... just an expansion of the police state. Just hire more police. I think Homeland Security would be right for this job. Pay for it by taxing guns n ammo. |
Columbine had two armed guards on duty. Vtech had police on campus. The Soviet Union had an army with 2.7 million men and did not stop the German in June of 41. |
