Kidding with a 8 year old is telling him you are buying a real live giraffe for his birthday. It isn't telling him that you are buying an Xbox. |
OP sounds like my brother. Made my life a living hell growing up. I was told by my parents that I needed a sense of humor. Luckily my brother left home when I was fourteen. My brother's son was recently committed to a mental hospital because my brother discovered plans that my nephew made to kill his family. My brother has teased his son relentlessly since the poor child was three. Nothing was off limits, weight, friends, the way my nephew ate his cereal. My brother is a dick, and so are you OP. |
i never joked about those things. i guess we'll be ok. |
different poster here. He's not justified in throwing his jacket at you but he is justified in never trusting you to keep your word. That's no life for a child to know that a parent can't be relied on. Your kid is going to be alienated from you for the rest of his life if you don't stop this behavior. |
Your son does not need a sense of humor. You are not funny and a general a-hole. Perhaps your son is not justified in throwing his jacket at you, but if you were picking on someone your own size, they would have punched you in the nose. Jerk. |
