Support Group for Parents with Special Needs Children?

I find that parents in gifted only support groups don't understand us and parents in special needs only support groups may think we're whining about nothing and we should be grateful for the high IQ. I feel really alone and would love to talk to parents of kids like mine. I understand 2E in and of itself can be very different depending on what the special need(s) is/are, but that's ok.

If you're in Montgomery County, there's a good GTLD yahoo group: GTLDNetworkNews

Hello,

I posted looking for a special needs parent support group in DC or close-in suburbs. Since there doesn't seem to be one, I will try to organize. I was thinking that it would just be great to meet some other parents in the same boat. I will also try to find some discussion topics online to get us going.

If you are interested, please email me at: sndc2017@gmail.com and I will put together an email list and coordinate a place and time for our first meeting.

Thanks and looking forward to meeting others.
