I do not recycle. Ask me anything.

Are you simply lazy? Or do you just not care that you are wasting resources and negatively impacting the health of the planet which your children and grandchhildren will inherit?

This attitude shocks me. Not recycling is unconscionable.
Anonymous
It's basically a very selfish attitude. I guess some people are just like that.

They should make the trash company do it back at base.

Wow. I hope the next generations have access to this so they will know where they came from.

What's the use of feeding your children healthy food and making them exercise if you destroy the natural resources they'll need when they're your age?

So:

what's the real reason why you don't recycle?

Yes it does! And so many rules. What to recycle? What not to recycle? I can never remember which is which so they all go into the black bin.

Where I live in Fairfax County, everything goes into one recycling bin. That's it. No sorting. Glass, plastic, paper, you name it -- one bin.

+1 for DC. This region makes it easy for even a retard to recycle. No excuse other than being a stupid thoughtless selfish retard.

In the town I grew up in, they now charge $1 a trash bag for garbage (you have to buy special purple bags for the trash collectors to get it) but recycling is free. I think it's a great system - and it's amazing how much extra stuff you can find to recycle when it costs you money to dump trash.

That's awesome. Hope our region moves this direction someday. Where is this?

I've been one of the most vociferous pro-recyclers on this thread, but my parents don't recycle. It really really irritates me. I think a lot of people their generation may not also.

Then be prepared to pay more for your garbage service. . . .

Yeah, I don't brush my teeth, cause it's a waste of time. I don't wipe my butt either.

Then the recyclers love you because you don't waste water or TP.

LOVE this idea! Exactly - incentivize people based on what really motivates them! Duh!

Apples and oranges. Thanks for the juvenile response.

This is in Concord, NH - but I know some other jurisdictions that have done it, also. It's a lot like the DC bag tax - really a very minimal economic incentive can motivate people to do what they otherwise would be too lazy to do. I know I personally have found myself washing out yogurt containers to recycle when I'm in my hometown that I'd probably get lazy and throw away otherwise.
