You are very lucky. The reality is that most women do feel overwhelmed in the beginning.

The situations are different based on your recovery, how many children you already have, the personality of your baby, the personality of the mother, how much help you get, how much help you can afford and a gazillion other factors. How difficult or easy having a baby will always depend on these things...but in general, having a baby doesn't tend to be "easy".
