Dumb argument. We all know Romney is involved in partnerships. He has to wait for the partnerships to fully report information/distributions, which never happens before April 15, or even August. Filing for an extension is literally something Romney couldn't control. Signed, Obama voter. |
We like to call him "Mittens" because it makes us feel smart and clever. We live in Washington, DC you know. |
Really, nicknames are now off limits? Didn't we put up with Slick Willie for a decade? I don't remember an outraged public scolding us ("that's just not right!") When diid we get the sudden attack of the persnicketies? Or is it a touch of political amnesia? |
For me, it's not an aversion to nicknames; it's just that I find "Mittens" rather meaningless. I would prefer something apt, say if someone could find a fitting acronym for M. Romney. Anyone for Mr. Money? |
I make no excuses for Willard and his offensive personality or positions, but he HAS to file an extension given the nature of his holdings. Tax forms like K-1s from partnerships, etc., often are not ready by 4/15 and are not due until August. My mother's return is never ready to file until September because she owns pieces of some real estate partnerships. |
IF you don't like mittens, how about Waffles? |
Guess everyone here will just gloss over Romney's $4 million in charitable contributions. Maybe if he gave $5,300 like the cheap SOB Biden this would get more play.
More fun to just call him Mittens, well done. |
Gee, a really, really rich candidate gave a bunch of money in the year he wants to get elected. How clearly selfless. |
When you have over $10million in unearned income, I don't think it's that big of a deal to give $4 million to charity. Much of that money went to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which requires its members to give at least 10% of their income, so one might not even consider it a voluntary contribution. The Obamas and Biden's each had significantly less than a tenth of Romney's income. Any attempt to draw comparisons between their finances and Romney's is untenable. |
mmmmmmm Kool Aid. |
Is your 401k also unearned income? Or is that a "qualified" investment. Risk v. Reward....chump. |
Uh, "unearned income" is a term in economics. One which has a meaning that you apparently do not realize. You should not shoot off your mouth without at least googling things that you do not understand. |
mmmmmmmmmmm... that's the sound of a wingnut losing his mind. Which is worse: watching Romney lose, or spending four months trying to pretend you believe in him, knowing that the eight real conservatives were all found to be unelectable? |
Giving money to the church is not the same as giving it to "charity". The church of course can and does use donations for a variety of things. Some are charitable causes and some are not. For just one example, the LDS church used donations to fight proposition 8 in California. That has nothing at all to do with charity. |
But that poster was in error. He gave 3 million to charity after the church. Do you count giving to other religious organizations as not giving to charity? The catholic church does political work too. |
