Choosing not to be in a parent directory - why or why not?

Anonymous
We set up a Google Voice number and a joint email for kid-/school-related stuff for this purpose. I can get calls and texts without having to give out my personal cell phone or email.

I do think the directory stuff is a little overblown. Our kids also go to after-school away from their base school, and we're not in their directory nor do we have their directory. They typically leave a short note with the after-school staff with their contact information and mentioning they'd like to get the kids together. It's not rocket science.

I know people who are out of the school boundaries who opt out so people don't know they are out of boundaries.

This and the kid only uses the kiss and ride are giveaways that they are out of bounds.

School projects -- the emails are also needed for school projects.
