I just realized that I am the absolute worst of DCUM

Oh, lay off the smoking. Nicotine is extremely addictive. So your compassion for smokers is better than the judgement.

BTW, OP, the MILs are the type of person that DCUMers hate the most. (The only thing that would worry me is if you don't vaccinate your kids.) So live and enjoy your life. Peace.

Anonymous wrote:haha OP here again, I'm not a troll, well.. I guess I understand why you would say that.. But everything I said is indeed true. 16:11, every other Republican I know is pro-life, which is why I said "therefore"..

I tried to breastfeed, but did not produce enough milk so stopped after two weeks. (I stopped smoking through pregnancy and didn't start up again until PPD after pregnancy.. )

16:09 I smoke outside of my home mostly in the morning before anyone's up with some coffee, during naptime, and after bedtime. I do not ever smoke around my child or anyone else's..

the smoke particles cling to you, whether you smoke in your home or near your loved ones or not. Not being nitpicky, I have a health condition that's triggered by smoke - even if someone's taken the precautions you have. While the smoke particles clinging to you make people like me ill, they're also not good for your family.

Why should a political party (or anyone for that matter) tell a woman what to do with her body? Why does a political party which says it wants less government feel it is necessary to be more involved in a woman's body and to determine whether or not she is allowed birth control?

Shouldn't less government = less involvement in the choices a woman makes to live her life?

I'm not even a Republican or anti-choice but I feel the need to respond because I hate when people pretend that another person's point of view is completely irrational rather than just disagreeing and giving your reasons for disagreeing.

To your first question - Anti-choice people believe the fetus is a life. They feel they can tell someone not to kill a fetus the same way that we all agree we can tell someone they can't kill a birthed person. Less government doesn't mean complete anarchy. Murder would still be on the books as a crime in their ideal world.

To your second question - I don't think most Republicans are in favor of outlawing birth control. They want to provide employers the right to not to include birth control in their health plans - shifting control from women to the employer, but not to the government.

Please for the love of God tell me why we have to rehash abortion all the time and every single election? That decision was made years ago, let it ride.

But she's 27...she should have grown up hearing that smoking is bad for you, it causes cancer, and it's addictive. There is no reason for a 27 year old to be a smoker. Is peer pressure that strong?

Pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, smoking Republican mom. And I work.

I don't hate you OP. You aren't the worst to me.

+1. Never ceases to amaze me how young people these days could ever start smoking. No excuse for that.

Correct?

Ohio maybe? I feel you are in Ohio. Or maybe Roanoke.

Why are you even participating in DCUrbanMoms other than to ask about pacifiers, then. Because night wakings are kind of universal, and so it's OK that you're in Ohio. but the rest of it -- your detestable political party, the smoking, the Christian -- that can stay back in Dayton or wherever. Talk about that stuff with your neighbors.

Please leave the DC area. You are the worst of DCUM.

Honestly, I am a pro-choice Dem. I do not hate you for anything you've listed. I can agree to disagree without hating you. But I will mock unsupported, illogical opinions pretty regularly.

OP here again.. let me clear up a few things.. I started smoking at 15, it was an extremely bad time in my life, and yes, a respected person in my life told me that smoking helped them to feel less stressed, and I bought into that. It was stupid, and it is very addictive. I quit about two years before I had DD, and started up again with PPD, another pretty negative time in my life. I have tried to quit, but it is extremely difficult. I honestly hate that I smoke, and there's nothing that any of you have or will say that I haven't told myself. You can tell me there's no excuse, and you're probably right, but it is what it is.

I am overweight, but working on it, I have lost 35 pounds and still losing. There are reasons and excuses that I could give you but I guess the important thing is that I'm working on it and making progress.

As far as the Republican/abortion topic, I truly believe that life begins at conception, and while you feel that a woman should be able to make the choice whether that life continues or not, I disagree and feel that God placed that life there for a reason and ending it should not be a power that we're allowed to have. I do not, however, agree that birth control should not be made available.

If there are any other questions, or if I missed anything I will gladly answer. I should have added "ask me anything" in my title I suppose..

Oh, and no, my daughter's not named Honey Boo Boo, and even though that was directed at me, it gave me a good laugh, so thank you for that!

More hate directed at the Midwest. See the "are people really as mean as they seem on DCUM" thread. The answer - YES!
