| To 7:09 -- I went to Cornell. It was a challenge cycling out of town but the dr's there are amazing |

I know this is an old thread, but I would recommend requesting a new nurse if you're not getting good ccommunication.
Nurse Crystal has been great. I get calls like clockwork every day that I have blood work or soon. She calls in my meds right away. She was working in another office temporarily and I got stuck with another nurse. I had to call four times in five days before I finally threw a tantrum (I was highly medicated at that point) and they put a nurse on the phone to fix whatever the problem was. |
| Sharon (Bethesda) is a great nurse- too. |
| Nurse Crystal is the best. She is the only reason I stayed at CFA. |
I go to the Arlington office and Tavia is my nurse, who is awesome. Crystal sometimes fills in when Tavia is out and I really like her, too. |
| I really liked Crystal. I was not a fan of Tavia. |
| We left CFA after three rounds of IVF (and some earlier treatments) with Dr. Sacks. The last round we had discussed and agreed to use assisted hatching, but then when we went for implantation, Sacks had forgotten about it and we didn't have a choice but to go ahead (and another failure). You'd think that he'd at least change up protocol or something. We then went to GW (where our doctor made some adjustments and tried some new approaches), and now have a lovely little girl (on the second IVF attempt there). CFA was a waste of thousands of dollars. |
| Now I'm concerned. We're doing an IVF w a donor there. With communication so poor how will I know everything is on track with her protocol? Anyone done donor with successful communication there? Arlington office. |
| I had several communication problems with the office. It was always one excuse or another (phone problems, email issues, fax not working). It was stressful on top of an already stressful process. |
|
For the recent posters, I have twins from DE w/ CFA, and a close friend who just had a baby from DE using the Arlington office.
We're both very happy w/ CFA, despite some aggravations w/ billing staff etc... But neither of us had difficulty w/ being informed about the donor side of things, staying on schedule, etc... |
|
For what it's worth, my very complicated IVF procedure (fresh embryo transfer using a known egg and sperm donor) at Shady Grove was FAR less stressful than my previous -- and relatively simple -- IUIs at Columbia.
Electronic medical records seem to make all the difference. |
| Geez a lot of this sounds truly unconscionable! I moved to DC after undergoing infertility treatment in my former city (flyover country), but you ladies of DC should not put up with this! I really feel for those of you who have undergone several cycles with this incompetent sounding clinic and staff! Cannot believe they forgot to do assisted hatching, etc. totally outrageous. |
| Wow I had a horrible experience with Nurse Crystal! She always seemed to be lying to me and spent most of the time goofing around instead of doing my sonogram. Not a fan of Nurse Crystal but loved Nurse Tavia in Arlington in which I eventually switched my file to Arlington(besides it was closer to home but further from work) Maybe all the love for nurse crystal comes from herself because she did say to me she follows the blogs. To each is own. I am now pregnant with CFA so have them to thank for that! Never had problems with billing or the nurses once I changed offices. |
Real Poster here, I loved Nurse Crystal. She was the real gem of the Bethesda office. I'm sorry you had a bad experience with her. Maybe it was just a bad day. When she left to work at the Arlington office for a while, I almost left the practice all together. |
| I heard that Catherine who used to work at GW is going to work at CFA. I LOVE her! I may just leave GW to go to CFA just to have her take care of me again. She is my sanity and I still cannot fathom how to try to conceive again without her. It's so hard to switch practices but even harder to go through this process without someone who really knows and cares. CFA is truly getting a gift with her. I hope it's not true and she comes back to GW! |
