Not sure what the rule is but I got pregnant 8 months after my csection and everything went fine. Although if you want a VBAC, you'll have a better chance if you wait longer. |
I had a VBAC for #2 after 3.5 years between pregnancies. when I asked about a #3, they said the "same rule" of spacing applied, which is that they preferred 1 year between pregnancies (even in my case, having had a successful VBAC already). that said, I specifically asked how big a deal it would be if it took less time to get pregnant (in my case, we knew we'd likely have to do fertility treatments but wanted to start trying naturally just in case of a miracle) and they said it wouldn't be.
this was at wisdom for what it's worth. |
What? My OB said 9 months. |
My doctor told me 18 months was ideal, meaning trying to get pregnant in 9 months. |
That's irresponsible. Or, more likely, the OB advised you to wait 6 weeks to have sex, but not TTC. |
I just had a c-section at the end of Nov. (pregnant via IVF) I spoke to my fertility doctor at SG and he told me to wait 6 months and then come see him again. We have stored embies and are planning on doing a FET. |
I thought two years post c was standard. |
I was told wait a year. But if I did get pregnant in that time, it would be ok - not life threatening to me or the fetus. |
Way back in the dark ages of the 1970s, my mom had secondary infertility after my brother was born, and it took them 6 years to have my sister. I was conceived 3 months after her c-section with my sister. She had a healthy pregnancy and I was born via c-section (her third) 4 days shy of my sister's first birthday. |
