What are your happy stories

My 3yo DD started preschool yesterday and it was a great success. She had lots of stories to tell, but when I asked her what her favorite thing about school was, she said 'seeing mommy' at the end of the day. Of course, that was the best bit for me as well. Might sound fairly normal to most people, but this is one little cookie who doesn't give much back ... not yet, at least.

I spent the weekend with my children at my family Reunion. I have a lot of great memories from this weekend. My favorite part though was staying up with my three and four year olds until after midnight, roasting marshmellows on the campfire.

When my daughter was 4 she asked me to describe "Heaven". I told her that it was the place you go where everyone is there that you love and all the things that you love to do are there too. She looked at me surprised and said "Oh, Nannie's house?" (that's my parent's home). I had to call and tell my mom.

My one-year-old doesn't nap well. Over the weekend, I was able to let her sleep lying on my chest, which was too sweet for words. She took a two-hour nap each of the three days, and was SO funny and happy and active afterwards! (Now if she would just nap like that on her own...)

She also started doing the point-and-"da!" trick this weekend to tell me what she wants. And when I give it to her (a piece of fruit from the bowl, for example) she flaps her arms and squeals with utter delight.

When out of the blue, for no reason at all, your child says,

"Mommy.........I love you". And it's alllllllllllllllllllllllllllll worth it!!!!
