18:43 here. Thanks for mentioning this! I forgot that in MS, classes won't end until 5pm anyway.

For HS, she will be old enough to ride the Metro alone to any activities or a PT job.

Are there places like the Y or Boys and Girls club that they can go too? I used to do that after school. Granted this was in NYC were I took the subway or bus around.

Where is it that classes go until 5pm? Our high school ends at 2:15 and the MS ends at 2:45.

Some charters in DC dont end until 5 or so. We're at Bethune and this is the case for 3rd grade and above I think.
