The fear-mongering "immigrants are going to take our jobs" is as old as America. Yet immigration has always benefitted our country.

There are already college degree jobs that are going unfilled. We import nurses from foreign countries and IT people, too. It has gotten worse and worse. And yet our lazy kids don't do the work to get those jobs.

Im a nurse and the jobs are SCARCE. There are many nursing graduates unable to find employment in nursing right now. Its a blood bath. I can assure you these kids graduating are NOT LAZY. They are willing to work all the worst shifts shoveling shit ( literally) and can't find employment. If foreigners are being hired on special visas its because hospitals and doctors. Want to pay minimum wage for a skilled worker.

I came here on an h1b visa and was surprised how hard it was financially. When I got the green card, my first new job offered me 30% more than what I had been making. And I had to live on that poor salary for years until the paperwork was sorted out. I could not even change my employer, complain that my salary was not market rate or alter my hours, and had to fight to even get the standard leave.
Result is that many really good highly skilled descide to rather leave. There are times that I think I should have done that too
