This has to be the most ignorant response on the entire political forum (well maybe second to the guy who obsesses about Obama's body odor). You could say "typical" anywhere. It's a sign of a weak mind. When I see "typical", I think "this person can't come up with a real thought, so they just blurt out whatever comes out of their mind before switching over to watch Hoarders.

I just hope Vince Gray is next. Still cannot believe that folks voted for him over Fenty.

What did you expect from the voting body that elected this guy and CONTINUES to elect him

If you spent as much time learning about DC politics as you do looking for pictures, you might not be so misinformed. Barry is elected only by residents of Ward 8. Barry has not run city-wide since 1994 (other than an aborted campaign in 2002 which he ended before the election). In a city-wide election, Barry could not be elected dog catcher. Blaming the entire city for Barry is like blaming the entire state of Louisiana for the fact that David Duke won a state House seat.

Why doesn't the rest of dc heard that ward into voting for a better representative? DC is obviously too silo-ed.

If you're concerned about public corruption, I'm not sure you want Adrian Fenty to be your poster boy.

And how would we do that (whatever it is you mean - I assume "herd")?

Good question. Also, why don't gays herd the Christian Conservatives into voting for same sex marraige?

Ward 8 would love outside interference in its Council race. Brilliant idea. Half the reason they elect Barry is to give us a big FU.

Why don't the rest of the states get those fools in Illinois to vote for honest politicians? The US is obviously too siloed.

Right! Ron Moten got a lot of $ from Fenty and blew it on a project that failed. Fenty's frat brothers also benefited handsomely and were way overpaid for work they did. Fenty came into the election with these marks against him. Gray has been a disappointment but we only found out about Gray's campaign scandals after he beat Fenty in the election. We knew Fenty had some shady stuff going on prior to the election.

DC is not the entire USA. DC's population is MUCH smaller than most major cities (Chicago, New York etc...)

Chicago Washington
Population 2,856,330 598,391
Pop. Density 12,444 9,629
Households 1,049,648 263,056

Earlier, everyone was referring to the application as a credit card application. Now, it looks like it was a home equity loan application. Kwame overstated the value of his home in order to get a larger loan.

What is an appraiser for, if not to place a value on a property. Lots of people think their homes are worth more than what someone else would pay for it. I don't see how this is a big deal. I apply for a refinance loan. The application has a space asking what is the value of my home. You, say 500K. Then you are asked how much is outstanding on the home, and you mark 300K. Finally, you request a loan amount in the amount of 400k. If the appraisal comes back stating that the house is appraised at 340K because of changing market conditions, how is that a felony. A lot of people would be in jail.

The article in the Examiner has a link to the complaint. Brown overstated his INCOME, not the value of his home, by tens of thousands of dollars. Moreover, he falsified a document verifying that his income was tens of thousands of dollars over what is was.
