Moving to Northern VA

have you looked at Pimmit Hills? The schools are good, and the area is inexpensive in comparison with the nearby Mclean and FC. You should be able to get a rental there in your price range I am pretty sure, plus you can afford to buy there if you decide to stay. The housing stock is not very nice though and there are tear down type of homes with chain link fences next to newer construction, but it's a very pretty woodsy and hilly area with sidewalks everywhere, and some places will be walkable to the tysons east metro. You should be able to get a detached home there with a yard easily.

Not sure but I think Marshall Road splits between Oakton and Madison )AAP for Marshall Road goes to Mosby Woods.

Archer and Flint Hill (including houses zoned for Flint Hill with Oakton addresses) go solely to Madison. Vienna and Cunningham Park are split Madison/Marshall feeders, and Marshall Road splits between Madison/Oakton, though most Vienna, Cunningham Park and Marshall Road students are zoned for Madison.

There are some rental homes and sales are in the low $700's with some in the 600's and some in the higher 700's.

Hi Neighbor I'm just down off of Shreve Rd. My kids are thriving in Shrevewood. There were recently two houses that sold around the $600k on Fairwood Ln. 22043

It's the Tysons Woods subdivision in the eastern part of the Vienna ES district, outside the town of Vienna.
