New problem at WOW (White Oak Wonders)

By the way, if this is a persistent problem leading to poor staff morale, anyone could submit a complaint:

The caregivers, primary and floaters, should bring this to the attention of the CCLC management if they believe it is effecting their job performance. Before a staff member submits a complaint, please read the employee handbook or other company documents to see if this is company policy.

As I have stated before, my DC's primary caregivers are consistently in the classroom. It seems really strange that a parent is taking this issue up on DCurbanmoms and not discussing this with the FDA COs and COTRs for this contract.

OP is not a parent. OP is a teacher, trying to stir things up. If your position is in childcare, and there are no children to care for, then what else is the staff going to do but send people home? These people are not getting laid off, they still have a job, but are not needed. This is legal, and this is what happens in childcare.

15:16 here, thanks. I think the same.

A group of parents has communicated these concerns to CCLC management and the Board. We hope the matter will be resolved soon, and that it will result in more predictable staffing, better continuity of care for our children, and better treatment of the teachers.

Will you post any communication received from the board and cclc?

Yes.

What was the resolution? My experience in this area has been that daycares and preschools do not want feedback. It's a take it or leave it mentality since most of the centers around here have wait lists.

I work in retail and the use of floaters and unpaid on call (must be available in case we need you but you get no comp for blocking off that time) is a common practice.

I am considering WOW and I would like to know if there are any parents that would give me feedback on the center? I have a soon to be 2 year old and a 3 1/2 year old.

You should start a new thread and ask specific questions. There is a parent meeting on the third Thursday of the month, maybe you can attend. If you work at FDA, you might be able to ask around there.

Unless you actually work on the campus, I'm not sure why you'd consider WOW after all the reviews posted.

I do want the best for my kids. I take these reviews with a grain of salt both positive and negative. I visited the facility and it seems like a good fit. This among others is a way of me getting additional information. There are not that many quality daycares in this area, so the pickings are very slim.

thank you 20:49 I will have to attend one of those meetings. Is it heavily attended by parents?
Anonymous
Yes, there are many parents that attend the meeting.

OP, can you post an update on the situation.
