I have a Lila and it does get pronounced and spelled sometimes in weird ways. I still like it. |
Educate yourself. It is also Arabic and Hebrew - so with such a wide origin breadth I do not believe it would be appropriation. |
| Lucy is most traditional and easiest to spell and pronounce. Go that route. |
OP should update. What did you name her?! |
| Lucy is my favorite. I would even go as far as to use Lucia on the birth certificate and Lucy as a nickname. |
It’s not even a top 10 name on the social security list. My kindergartener is named lily and she is at a large elementary school. She is the only lily in her grade but their are 3 girls named Lucy. I personally love all 3 names. I don’t think OP could go wrong with any of them but lily is not as popular as you claim. |
| Lily is my favourite of these. |
|
We know a Lyla and it is always pronounced correctly.
I think a lot of people will pronounce your spelling Lil-a |
| Lily----it is classic. |
|
Lucy - In a stadium of 100,000 people and 100,000 dogs, 234 dogs and 60 people would be named Lucy.
Lily - In a stadium of 100,000 people and 100,000 dogs, 103 dogs and 45 people would be named Lily. I like Lily better. Have you considered Lina or Linda? |
| Love Lila. Had a great Aunt Lila. Lucy and Lily are great names too. |
Plus 1 |
| If I’d had a 2nd girl she would have been Lucy. Love the name! |
| Lucy is the best. Then Lila, then Lily. All nice. |
| All the Lilah's i know are Jewish. They pronounce it Lee-lah. |
