I'm not the PP who recommended suzysq but I have had a BBQ a bunch of times at a BBQ competition every summer and it's awesome.

?!??
Maybe OP is not concerned about demonstrating testosterone via cooking slabs of flesh over a flame. Maybe OP and her spouse want to mingle, enjoy, and relax instead of standing over a hot grill for the majority of the party. It's a big group, which means lots of grill time to provide enough for everyone. Sounds like a great idea to me!

06:36, thank you! You've had suzysq's BBQ? I'm planning a little late so he may well not be free on my date, but I'm really starting to hope that he would be.

Is there a culinary school near you? Or a college that offers a culinary program? If so just call the admin office I'm sure they have a job board. My college had one, people would post jobs like yours grilling at a BBQ, or wait staff needed for house party etc. A girl friend and I always did this type of thing. it wil be a lot cheaper than hiring someone from a catering company.
