Are stainless appliances really still in?

We opted for black in 2006 even though stainless was just starting to reach the masses as the finish of choice. It was the smudge issue that I was trying to avoid. I don't mind the black at all and am in no hurry to replace it.

OP: Please tell me if this distraction from the grave is still the distraction everyone else thinks is thinking about or if they are distracting themselves some other way now. I am feeling somewhat insecure and need to feel like part of something larger than myself.
